Tenerife, the island of eternal spring

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and enjoys a mild climate all year round: in winter the south is often T-shirt weather, and in summer the trade winds keep the days fresh. That is why it is called the island of eternal spring. At its centre rises Mount Teide, 3,715 metres high: it is the highest peak in Spain and its national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Up there the sky is among the clearest in Europe, perfect for stargazing. Along the coast you will find golden and black volcanic sand beaches, the Los Gigantes cliffs and small harbours where whale and dolphin watching trips set off, as they can be seen all year round between Tenerife and La Gomera.
